Movie reviews

Shrek 2: Laugh factor: 5 stars! haha... Shrek 2 was really funny! i was practically laughing throughout the entire show.. loved the part when Pinocchio, Gingerbread and comapny went to rescue Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots... the soundtrack came from the theme of Mission Impossible and it was sOoO funny... and funnier still when Donkey asked Pinocchio to tell a lie ("Just say you're wearing ladies' underwear!") and when Pinocchio squeaked "No!" his nose promptly began to lengthen and i laughed and laughed.. and did i mention i lurve Puss In Boots? when he turned on that big, dewy eyed expression... aWwWw..

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: not really up to my standards.. din really like the way this director (Alfonso-something) directed the movie. I dun tink it stayed faithful to the book... and the way the Alfonso guy directed it, it was like he expected everyone to read the book before watching it. i mean, the audience didn't really know much about Buckbeak and Malfoy's malicious attempt to execute him until, quite suddenly, we see Hagrid throwing stones in the water and annoucing Buckbeak's execution. like, huh? and there were no scenes mentioning Minerva McGonagall's classes too! big disappointment, because Transfiguration classes are quite interesting to watch, and McGonagall is supposed to be quite a main character in the story! i think the Fat Lady got even more scenes then her. The part where Harry found out that Sirius (pronounced as See-rius, i always thought it was Sigh-rius) Black was his dad's best friend left little impact on me. i mean, they didn't even deliver the lines properly! either Flitwick or someone was supposed to exclaim "Quite the double act, Sirius Black and James Potter!" and THIS was supposed to be the punchline! but no, they cut it out, leaving me highly disappointed. And when Ron thought Crookshanks ate Scabbers, he wasn't even that upset! in the book, they waged war and their relationship became very strained. this was not reflected!

But the cinematography was good, i suppose, especially the part where Harry and Hermione went back in time to save Buckbeak and Sirius. they added some extra stuff here n there, but it was good. i didn't like the Firebolt at the ending though. yeah i noe it came with Buckbeak's feather, but still...! ok maybe because i'm a die hard HP fan, that's y i have so much to criticise about the movie..
